Each
Playaway holds an entire audiobook already pre-loaded on it.
Using only a few buttons, a listener can easily navigate back and forth
through a chapter, adjust volume up and down, and even alter the speed
of a narrator’s voice. Playaways also have an automatic bookmark
feature that remembers where you stopped listening and resumes at that
point when turned on again. Playaways operate using one AAA
battery that may need to be replaced before listening. Then
simply plug in headphones and enjoy.
Many of the Young Adult Playaway titles were chosen by the Hamilton-Wenham Teen Think Tank
members. The purchase of Playaways for the Young Adult area were funded
by the Library Services and Technology Act Serving ‘Tweens and Teens
Grant.
